About CCNA certification exam

The Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification is an entry-level certification, which is a pre-requisite for all the advanced level Cisco certifications such as CCNP and CCIE. It validates the skills of networking professionals to install, configure and troubleshoot routed and switched networks. CCNA Certified professionals are capable of implementing and verifying connections to remote sites in a WAN. They also have basic knowledge on security issues, Wireless networking and performance-based skills.

Pass the following exams:

• 640-802 CCNA: ICND1 and ICND 2

Alternatively, pass both the exams

• 640-816 CCNA: ICND2
• 640-822 CCNA: ICND1

Note: Either choose 640-802 as a single exam option or both the 640-816 and 640-822 to become the CCNA certified

CCNA certification requirements

Cisco has announced changes to the CCNA certification and exams in June 2007. Cisco has now introduced ICND1 (640-822), ICND2 (640-816), and CCNA (640-802) exams. The 640-802 exam will be the single exam option for becoming CCNA. Alternatively, passing ICND1 and ICND2 will provide you the CCNA certification. However, passing ICND1 will provide a separate certification named Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT).

• Single Exam Option > Pass Exam 640-802 > CCNA
• Two-Exam Option > Pass 640-822 (ICND1) > CCENT > Pass 640-816 (ICND2) > CCNA
